A Steinberger GM1T from the Newburgh era, serial N8742. Original matte black finish wearing a few small marks, the kind that tell you it lived somewhere before it got here. The neck is clean and fast, the action low and steady, and the TransTrem locks and transposes with the confidence these were built for.

Here's the part I like: I found it in a banjo shop in Nashville, of all places, with a passive pickup in it for reasons no one could explain. So HeadlessUSA rebuilt it properly, the way it should have left the factory. Stainless refret, full rewire, a real TransTrem setup. It feels tight and exact now, every part of it deliberate. Nothing left to guess at.
